Brand & Season Identity

Founded in 1990 by John Bell, Bell Shakespeare is an Australian theatre company specialising in the works of William Shakespeare and other classics.

In 2015, ahead of Peter Evans’ first year as sole Artistic Director, we were engaged to review, define and relaunch the company’s identity. This meant evolving all elements of the visual identity including logos, typography, colour palettes and imagery. 

Given the company presents a new season every year, careful consideration was given to how the brand would evolve and adapt with each new set of plays. The new approach sees season imagery re-imagined every year. Logos, colour and typography are based around set styles, but vary in treatment and use to ensure with each new season, the identity feels both consistent and new.

Our ongoing relationship with Bell Shakespeare involves us working annually across season identities and working closely with the in-house design and marketing team to ensure all collateral is executed consistently.
